interactIVe participation in the Transport Research Arena 2012

interactIVe participated at the Transport Research Arena 2012 that took place in Athens, Greece, April 23-26.

A special session titled: �Enhanced Environment Perception and Results of Field Operational Tests of Active Safety Systems� was organized together with the euroFOT research project. The session featured three euroFOT and two interactIVe presentations and was attended by stakeholders from automotive companies and suppliers, as well as researchers from universities and industry.

After a short introductory overview by Aria Etemad (Ford Research & Advanced Engineering Europe), the coordinator of both projects interactIVe and euroFOT, partners presented the work performed on Active Safety Systems. Tobias Hesse (Deutsches Zentrum f�r Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V) and Lars Bjelkeflo (Volvo Technology, Intelligent Vehicle Technologies) presented the interactIVe approach on information, warning and intervention strategies as well as the development of interactIVe safety systems in general.

Moreover, a paper titled: �A Vehicular Environment Perception Platform for Safety Related Applications� was presented by Dr. Angelos Amditis and Dr. Panagiotis Lytrivis, (Institute of Communication and Computer Systems) in the frame of TRA 2012.
